Biography: George Allan England (1877-1937) was an American writer, and one of the earliest science fiction authors. His story The Thing From--Outside appeared Amazing Stories, the first science fiction magazine. He is known for his trilogy, Darkness and Dawn (1912-14), a story of rebuilding civilization thousands of years after a meteor strike.
