Biography: German novelist and Egyptologist Georg Moritz Ebers (1837-1898) is famous for discovering one of the most important Egyptian medical papyri in the world. His scholarly interests also led him to create historically accurate romance novels that celebrate Egyptian lore, like Serapsis (1885) and Kleopatra (1894).
