| Biography: | Edward Sylvester Ellis (1840-1916) was a highly prolific American author who wrote under a variety of pen names such as Boynton M. Belknap and Frank Faulkner. Ellis worked as an educator and journalist, but had the most success writing dime novels with adventure themes such as The Captives of the Frontier. Ellis also wrote a series of novels for young boys known as the Deerhunter novels, which achieved success internationally. |
