Biography: Earl Derr Biggers (1884-1933) was an American author best-known for film adaptations of his novels, particularly the Charlie Chan detective stories. Born in Ohio, Biggers graduated from Harvard University and worked as a journalist in Boston before winning fame as a novelist and playwright.
