| Biography: | Anne Bronte (1820-1849) was the youngest sister in the famous Bronte literary family, and a novelist and poet in her own right. She lived with her family on the Yorkshire moors, attended boarding school, and fulfilled her ambition to teach by becoming a governess. In addition to publishing poetry with her sisters Charlotte and Emily, Anne wrote two novels, Agnes Grey (1847) and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall (1848) in a realistic style that contrasted with the romanticisim of her sisters. Anne died at age 29 of pulmonary tuberculosis. |
