Biography: Anna Balmer Myers was an American novelist who painted literary pictures of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, particularly the Amish families living there in the early 20th century. A schoolteacher as well as a writer, Myers captured the gentle stories of the Pennsylvania Dutch in novels such as Amanda, A Daughter of the Mennonites (1921).
